While I’ve seen Cameron Stewart’ apology letter regarding the Batgirl #37 floating around in several places, I haven’t seen much of actual examples of SJW’s raging about it.
So I threw on my muck waders and started digging through twitter looking for tranny butthurt to laugh at. Oddly enough, there really wasn’t all that much of it, just some articles, and a few people tossing around limp wristed words like problematic and such. However, actually reading the articles just made the whole situation even funnier.
See, the tumblrellas aren’t just raging over the transvestite villain, no, they’re angry because they feel Batgirl’s transgendered roommate hasn’t been getting enough screen time since the book underwent it’s big social justice friendly relaunch. Now, the reason why that character had her role reduced wasn’t due to any sort of actual transphoba, it was just because the writer decided to give Batgirl an entire Burger king Kids Club worth of diversity check-mark friends and there’s only so many god damn pages in a comic book. But, when have social justice twits ever cared about a minor thing like reality? So, yeah, this Batgirl is transphobic! shit isn’t just them bitching about making the bad guy a cross-dresser, they’re literally whining that their particular special snowflake identity isn’t getting pandered to as much as it was a few months ago.
Also, because this is Shitty Web Comics, here’s a much better reason reason to loathe Batgirl #37 for.
Fun fact Gail Simone only wrote Barbra’s roommate as trans because she wanted to be the first writer to introduce a trans character in a Bat book. As evidence by the hugboxing on her Twitter page the day the reveal came out.
Like I’ve said time and time again SJW’s don’t fucking care about writing or storytelling they just wanna see LGBT, female and ethic characters in comics to make them feel special because “The word doesn’t understand us MAAAAAAAAN!”.
Stewart and his flunkies dug their own graves with this issue now let’s let them all rot in them.
